 What Is Bar Code Asset Management?
Using portable bar code
readers, receiving and inventory personnel can capture location, organization,
description, condition and other important information and send the data
collected back to the host computer over a telephone line or direct cable.
Changes in location, condition and status of assets can be captured in a
similar manner, as they occur, by facilities and information systems personnel.
The information is then available on a single computer or through a local area
network for inquiry or reporting purposes.
